Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nikoniko Japan Shop handles information when using its private publishing application with the official Pinterest API. The Application is operated solely for the shop owner's own Pinterest account.
1. About this application
The “Application” is a private content-publishing tool used solely by Nikoniko Japan Shop to prepare, review, schedule, and publish the shop's own content to its own Pinterest account. It is not offered to the general public.
2. Information we access
“Pinterest Data” means information the Application receives from Pinterest through the official Pinterest API. Using OAuth 2.0, the account owner grants only the permissions needed to read the owner's boards and Pins and to create, update, and delete Pins on the owner's own Pinterest account. Within those permissions, the Application may receive:
- the authenticated account's basic profile information, including its account name and identifier;
- the names and identifiers of that account's boards; and
- Pins owned by that account and their metadata.
The Application does not request or receive a Pinterest password, browser session cookie, or information about other people's accounts. It uses no cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies of its own.
3. How we use information
Information is used only to:
- show the account owner available boards and existing Pins;
- prepare and preview new Pins;
- publish, schedule, update, or delete a specifically approved Pin; and
- confirm the result of an API request.
4. Individual review and approval
Before any write request is sent, the account owner individually reviews and approves each Pin, including its image, title, description, destination link, alternative text, target board, and publication time. Scheduling only sets the time at which an already-approved, individually chosen Pin is sent. The Application never selects or publishes a Pin that the owner has not specifically considered and approved. It does not perform bulk or repeated publishing of the same content and does not automate follows, likes, comments, messages, or any other engagement.
5. Storage and security
The Application does not store Pinterest Data. Board and Pin information is requested through the official Pinterest API each time it is needed, is held only in memory for the duration of that request, and is not written to a database, file, cache, log, or backup. Content created by Nikoniko Japan Shop—including images, titles, descriptions, destination links, alternative text, and scheduling settings—is the shop's own content and may be stored locally on the operator's computer until it is published or deleted. Access and refresh tokens are stored locally with access restricted to the operator's user account. Tokens are never written to logs, placed in public source code, or shared with third parties.
6. Sharing, sale, and AI use
We do not sell, rent, trade, disclose, or share Pinterest Data with advertisers, data brokers, unrelated third parties, or third-party artificial-intelligence services. We do not combine Pinterest Data with data from any other person's account. Pinterest Data is not used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, improve, or otherwise develop any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model. If a third-party AI service helps draft the shop's own titles, descriptions, or images, only content supplied or created by Nikoniko Japan Shop is sent to that service; Pinterest Data is not sent.
7. Data deletion and access revocation
The account owner may delete locally stored drafts and stored authorization credentials at any time. Access granted to the Application can be revoked at any time from the Pinterest account's connected-app settings. Once access is revoked, or if the Application is discontinued, the Application stops accessing the Pinterest account and the locally stored access and refresh tokens are deleted.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the Application's operation or applicable requirements change, and the effective date above will be updated at that time. If the Application's use of the Pinterest API changes materially, Nikoniko Japan Shop will confirm that the new use complies with the Pinterest Developer and API Terms and the Pinterest Developer Guidelines, and will obtain Pinterest's approval where required, before the new use begins.
